2018 Shetland 6U North Zone World Series

Welcome to the information site for the 2nd annual 2018 PONY Baseball Shetland 6U Coach Pitch World Series. We hope you will take a few minutes to look around the site and come and enjoy a few days of great PONY Baseball with us.

The tournament will be held in Franklin, Indiana, July 13-15, 2018. July 16 (Monday) will be used as a rain day. We are planning on having teams from across the country to play in this tournament. We will take the first 16 teams and then will have a waiting list if needed. The cost of the tournament is $225.00 for all teams. No additional fees will be charged for the team or fans, as this cost covers sanctioning with the PONY North Zone and gate.

We will award first, second, third, and fourth place banners for both the National Championship round and the Consolation round, if it is a 16-team tournament.

If you are interested in playing in this thrilling event, please contact Dan Sanders at [email protected]Chris Siebe at [email protected]Steve Miller at [email protected] or Randy Crompton at [email protected].

The size of the tournament may change depending on the number of teams that request to play. The tournament rules and other important information may be found on the links listed below.

Things to do:

The tournament complex is only 15 minutes from downtown Indianapolis and 15 minutes from Edinburgh Mall.

Indianapolis is the capital and largest city of the U.S. state of Indiana. With an estimated population of 853,173 in 2015, Indianapolis is the second-most populous city in the Midwest, after Chicago, and 14th largest in the U.S.

Indianapolis is within a single-day drive of 70 percent of the nation's population, lending to its nickname as the "Crossroads of America”. The city is perhaps best known for annually hosting the world's largest single-day sporting event, the Indianapolis 500.

The city's philanthropic community has been instrumental in the development of its cultural institutions, such as The Children's Museum of Indianapolis and Indianapolis Museum of Art. The city is notable as headquarters for the American Legion and home to a significant collection of monuments dedicated to veterans and war dead, the most in the U.S. outside of Washington, D.C. Indianapolis is considered a "high sufficiency" global city.

Indianapolis is also home to the Indianapolis Indians minor league baseball team. The Indians are a triple A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. It is also home to the Indy 500 Auto Race, Soldiers and Sailors Monument, Scottish Rites Cathedral, Indianapolis Museum of Art, and Butler University.

We hope your baseball family can join us for the World Series!

2017 was an incredible first year. Read all about it below:

After a combined 16 games in two days, Connersville, Indiana closed out a successful North Zone Shetland 6U World Series with a 22-20 victory over Rocklane, Indiana in the championship game. Congratulations to Mooresville's Kevin Lark for bringing home the tournament MVP and Gold Glove Awards, as well as Connersville's Eli Laughlin for winning the Slugger Award. PONY and the North Zone would like to commend Tournament Director Chris Siebe and Umpire Supervisor Dan Sanders, who both did an excellent job running the tournament. PONY and the North Zone look forward to an even bigger group next year, and once again, congratulations to all of the teams for making history as the first to ever participate in this event: Connersville, Rocklane, Zionsville, Whiteland and Mooresville.
