In 2023, PONY Baseball and Softball signed a one-year agreement with Vacaville Pony Baseball to host the Mustang-9 World Series. This was the first time Vacaville Pony Baseball hosted a World Series.

“We are very excited to return to Vacaville for the 2024 and 2025 Mustang-9 World Series,” stated Abraham Key, PONY President. “Based on hosting the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series, Vacaville is the perfect sized city with a great leadership team and community support to make this an exceptional experience for the players and their families from other parts of the United States, Mexico, Asia, and the Caribbean.”

The 2023 Mustang-9 World Series was a successful event for Vacaville Pony Baseball. San Diego (Tecolote), California went undefeated throughout the Mustang-9 World Series. Simi Valley, California was the runner-up finishing with a 3-1 record.

Eight teams participated in the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series. The North Zone representative was Frankfort, Illinois, the South Zone representative was Kingwood, Texas, the West Zone representative was Simi Valley, California, the Mexico Zone representative was Los Mochis, Mexico, and the Asia Pacific Zone representative was Suginaka, Japan. In addition to all the Zone Winners was Vacaville Pony Baseball and host area Rodeo, California.

“With the success Vacaville had hosting the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series, I was excited to hear when they decided to sign the contract to host the 2024 and 2025 World Series,” said PONY Tournament Director Rob Lindsey. “It’s a great location, with great city support and local businesses. I look forward to assisting them with any of their needs.”

The 2024 Mustang-9 World Series will kick off with Opening Ceremonies followed by the Skills Competition on Friday. All games will be played at Keating Park and can be livestreamed from anywhere in the world.

“We would like to thank everybody who came out to support our event last summer,” stated Jason Case, Vacaville Pony Baseball President. “We are already working hard to make it even better next year and look forward to seeing everyone again!”
