The PONY Baseball and Softball International Board of Directors has voted to change the age determination date for baseball to April 30 effective for the 2023 baseball season. This change will be explained at these meetings, and we ask that each league in these areas have at least one representative at one of these meetings.
There will be no loss of eligibility for any participants in the 2023 season, essentially the PONY program will be four months older starting in 2023. Players born in the months of May, June, July, and August will have a choice of whether to stay in their respective age groups or move up into an older age group with their former teammates.
We will have handouts as well as tournament sites and dates. This will be a great time for the leagues in these areas to come and ask questions. We ask that you invite any other leagues in your area that may have or not have been part of the PONY family to these meetings.
Leagues that have left PONY and would like to come back this year with this change, there will be a 50% discount to franchise your league for the 2023 season. If you have any questions or need any additional information, please let me know.
