Day One Recap of Palomino World Series

GAME 1: YOUNGSTOWN, OH 4, BROWNSVILLE, TX 3

In a close game, Youngstown, OH was able to come out on top, winning 4-3 over Brownsville, TX on Friday.

Following a walk, Tyler Kamerer doubled to left field scoring one run for Youngstown, OH in the first inning.

In the fifth inning, Brownsville, TX had an inside the park home run by Salvador Lopez. In addition, Angel Larranage singled to right field scoring Aldan Delagado who just had hit a triple to center field.

Gage Gilliot was on the mound for Youngstown, OH. He surrendered two runs on seven hits over six innings and striking out five.

On the mound for Brownsville, TX was Jonathan Moody. He pitched for three and two third innings while giving up five hits and striking out four.

Aldan Delgado and Lopez led Brownsville, TX in hits.

Kamerer went 3 for 4 to lead Youngstown, OH in hits.

GAME 2: PUERTO RICO 10, APPLE VALEY, CA 0

Puerto Rico was victorious over Apple Valey Friday night.

Puerto Rico scored three runs in the third bringing the score to 9-0. Kristian Crespo and Jankel Ceballos both drove in runs.

Colon was on the mound for Puerto Rico. He allowed three hits over five innings, striking out eight.

On the mound forĀ  Apple Valey was Nathan Creason. He surrendered nine runs on nine hits over two and two thirds innings, striking out two.

Puerto Rico had twelve hits. Crespo led the way with the most hits including an inside the park home run in the third inning.


GAME 3: YOUNGSTOWN, OH 24, AROMA PARK 4

Youngstown, OH got on the board early scoring on a grand slam from Tim Quinn in the first inning.

A single by Tyler Kamerer and Joesph Roth and a double by Jason Treveri helped extend the lead to 7-0 in the second inning. An RBI from Alex Tomsic made the score 8-0 going into the third inning.

Doubles from Samuel Williams and Alex Juraninch and a single by Nicholas Heerede helped Aroma Park shorten the lead to 10-4.

Ethan Edkins was on the mound for Youngstown, OH. He gave up one run on one hit over three innings, striking out four.

Michael Feitas got the start for Aroma Park. He lasted one and two thirds innings, giving up nine hits and eight runs while striking out two.

Youngstown, OH put an amazing thirteen runs on the board in the sixth inning. The offense was led by Roth, Conor Carney, Jimmy Sadler, Kamerer, Quinn, and Roth.

In total, Youngstown, OH had 21 hits. Roth led the way with five hit in his five at bats.

Heerde went two for three for Aroma Park.

GAME 4: PUERTO RICO 10, LAREDO, TX 4

Puerto Rico claimed a 10-4 victory on Friday, despite Laredo, TX scoring four runs over three innings.

Doubles by Abdier Aiyala, Dicky Gonzalez, and Jorge Rivera gave Puerto Rico a 5-0 lead in the first inning.

In the third inning, Luis Martinez homered over left field.

William De Gracia was on the mound for Puerto Rico. He gave up three hits and one run over four innings, striking out five.

For Laredo, TX Robert Villarreral was on the mound to start the game. He lasted six innings, allowing 14 hits and ten runs while striking out three.

Puerto Rico had 14 hits. Gonzalez, Rivera, Eric Bello Torres, Aiyala, and Raul Torres all managed to have multiple hits.
