2021 Mustang-9 International World Series Championship

The final day of the eighth annual Mustang-9 International World Series from Walnut, CA came to an end. The 2021 Mustang-9 World Series winner was crowned.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: ORANGE, CA 16, PLACENTIA, CA 6

Placentia, CA watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 16-6 loss to Orange, CA on Monday. Orange, CA scored on RBIs from Joe Velazquez and Gavin Klovstad.

Andrew Waibel was unstoppable at the plate. He tallied five hits. Waibel singled in the first, tripled twice in the second, singled in the fourth and fifth.

Placentia, CA offense in the third inning earned them runs. RBIs from Luke Hartshorn, Anderson Miles, Maximiliano Mejia, and Declan Godsey helped shorten the lead.

Jacob Barragan was on the mound for Orange, CA. He allowed four hits and four runs over two and a third innings, striking out one.

Hartshorn got the start for Placentia, CA. He allowed seven hits and ten runs over one and one-third innings. 

To lead Orange, CA in their 17 hits was Waibel, Rush Sylva, and Barragan. Waibel also led the way with three of the nine stolen bases for Orange, CA.

Lucca Giano went 2 for 3 at the plate for Placentia, CA. Miles led the way with three of the ten stolen bases for Placentia, CA.

Congratulations to Andrew Waibel from Orange, CA for being the Batting Champion. Waibel had a .800 average with 19 plate appearances.
